All I remember about those years was the high interest rates and lines at the gas pump
I remember the gas lines also. On Saturdays it was like hitting he lottery to find a gas station open.
Was living in So. Fla. at the time and remember the impact on recreational boating as one marina after another had to shut off their fuel pumps.
The only upside was if you were lucky enough to find gas you could be the the only boat on a normally crowded fishing hole.
