What's "Gulag"? The Internet is cutting into my reading time heavily -- I used to polish off an SF paperback novel in a day or two. Now a short story can take two or three days; I can still speedread, but the glasses make it harder.

“Gulag” is by Jane Appelbaum, and is a comprehensive history of the soviet prison system. It’s really quite good. This is my second time through it.
