Well that makes no sense unless they are claiming that the chemicals are not only messing with boys' hormones, but actually TURNING BOY BABIES INTO GIRL BABIES in utero.

I wondered about that too, but I think what the author means is that, statistically, normally a certain percentage of newborn babies are male and a certain percentage are female, but those accepted percentages have been skewed. So, for example, if you had 100 babies born, you might expect something like 51 girls and 49 boys, but instead you get 55 girls and 45 boys. The only two explanations for that would be either that the X-carrying sperm are given an advantage by estrogens, or that the sex differentiation of the fetus is disrupted by the estrogens.
