GUAM - Despite taking some time to adjust to a totally different climate that challenged them to work extra hard to do their best and challenged maintainers to keep aircraft operational, deployed airmen from Alaska's Elmendorf Air Force Base and their fleet of $140 million F-22 Raptors performed above and beyond expectation with their 36th Wing counterparts stationed at Andersen Air Force Base.

As Guam News Factor reported on October 5, heavy rains on Guam caused electronics problems on the visiting Raptors during their temporary basing on island.

The Air Force Times had reported that crews at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska discovered problems with the electronics on board twelve F-22 Raptors after the $140-million-a-piece aircraft returned from a four-month deployment to Andersen Air Force Base on Guam.

According to the Times, "wet conditions at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, caused mechanical problems in a dozen F-22 Raptor fighters deployed to the Pacific island from the much less rainy Alaska."

Here is a recent news report filed from Andersen Air Force Base:

There is no need to worry about these problems, all the F-22’s will be in museums by the end of Bambi’s reign...

So much for all-weather.
Well the F-4 had plenty of teething problems too.

Not museums. Crunched in an Airforce “Cash for Clunkers”; $140 million dollar F-22’s will be turned in for a more environmentally friendly, carbon neutral hybrid jet/battery/bicycle powered turbofan that maxes out at 200 knots. Not much against a SU-35 but has the Al Gore seal of approval.

Eek!!! It rains on Guam! Oh horrors!!! I am surprised the valiant darlings of the Air Force managed to put up with such savagery.

Give everyone a medal! Make it two!

The F-22’s RAM stealth coating is more resistant to the humid and wet elements present at Guam than the F-117’s.
