California Broke, Thanks Mexico

A new study examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes the costs to Californians is $10.5 BILLION per year. The state's already struggling K-12 education system spends approximately $7.7 billion a year to school the children of illegal aliens. Another $1.4 billion of taxpayer's money goes toward providing health care to illegal aliens. The same amount is spent incarcerating illegal alien criminals. Back in 1994 California voters rebelled and overwhelmingly passed Proposition 187, which sought to limit liability for mass illegal immigration. Since then state and local governments have blatantly IGNORED the wishes of the voters and continued to shell out public benefits on illegal aliens. Predictably, the costs of illegal immigration have grown geometrically, while the state has spiraled into a fiscal crisis that's brought it near bankruptcy.

Bush?

Bush nearly single handily made American citizenship all but pointless.

Bush emboldened illegal aliens by the millions, so much so, tens of *millions* of them marched on our cities from Dallas to Atlanta and all points in between making demands and threats. These marches were an epic, historic lawless exhibition, and a disgusting national disgrace.

All this, during wartime no less....

Californian's passed Prop 187 while the rest of the country stood gawking, watching their own states be over run...

Amen! Or if their states weren't being overrun yet, they smugly said, "Oh, those fruits and nuts in California! It serves them right!" Well, I'm the first one to admit there's plenty of "fruits and nuts" here, but there are also a heck of a lot of good, conservative Americans...Americans who do not deserve to have their schools and neighborhoods ruined; who do not deserve to be hit by unlicensed, uninsured, often drunk illegals; who do not deserve to be raped and robbed. As California goes, so goes the nation, so may God help us all.

I don’t think the tide can be reversed. Even Karl Marx said that eventually QUANTITY irrevocably changes QUALITY.

And if ObamaCare socialized “free” medicine passes there won’t be many hospitals open for us since we’ll be in long lines waiting months or years for treatment! We’ll be waiting too - but behind the illegals - for treatment!

Don’t worry - given the present trend California won’t even have those IOU’s to hand out for tax refunds. They’ll be totally BROKE and appealing to the rest of the USA to bail them out! Maybe they can ask Mexico for foreign aid.

I don't think it can be either. Illegal aliens, global warming, nationalization of major industries...hell care soon to follow. What are we to conclude about the 'American' left? They are deliberately bringing this country to it's knees. It makes me physically ill.

Right - and amnesty is definitely on Obama’s agenda. He just wants to socialize medicine first.

Numbers are way too conservative. Stop in any emergency room in Southern California at anytime on anyday and you will know why.

Drive through the central valley and you'll start to wonder if you are in mexico

Don’t look to politicians for ANY serious action - they’re too interested in pandering to the Hispanic vote. They could care less about our bankrupt public school districts, higher taxes for welfare and social services, insolvent hospitals, prison incarceration and the ravages of the drug cartel. They even ignore the dangers of our open borders in an age of international terrorism!

Exactly - they don’t WANT to see the problem when its right before them everywhere. This is a result of presidential indifference right down from federal to state and local government.

Two thirds of the illegal immigrants were here when Bush was elected.

It’s not just the border states anymore. It may be worse there because of proximity but there’s not an urban (and even many suburban and rural) area in the United States that isn’t being affected and paying a price for the illegal invasion.

The congressional cowards appropriated some money for a fence but just delay and look for any imaginary excuse not to complete the project. What does that tell us? A whole lot!

Article. IV., Section 4., U.S. Constitution:

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.

This does NOT just refer to armed military invasion but, in historical context, to ANY invasion that threatens this government. There was a time in American history when all politicians who took a solemn oath to preserve and defend the U.S. Constitution - and who knowingly violated that oath - would have been guilty of treason. How times have changed!

Two thirds of the illegal immigrants were here when Bush was elected.

LOL! And a conga-line of probably 25 million danced in during his administration as he aided and abetted this epic lawlessness.

Eight Million Illegal Aliens in 2000

Why do you keep providing links that are *years* old?

Get yourself updated friend...

There are probably 6 million in Texas alone....The latest credible reports have numbers upwards of 30 million.

Bwahaha...their are only 75 million Mexicans...I think it would be easy to tell if nearly half of them were here.

There are only 24 million Texans..you really think one out of four are illegals?

By the end of his term, Bush had done more to stem illegals than anyone since Eisenhower. I'm sure Obama will do much better still, in thanks for your help demonizing Bush and Republicans.

I swore off immigration threads about three years ago because of the rampant idiocy of borderbots. I see nothing has changed.

Bush had done more to stem illegals than anyone since Eisenhower.

You're a graduate of the Tokyo Rose school of propaganda?

Your comments in regards to Bush are absolutely frightening...

So much so, I'll leave you with this:

Dallas Texas 2006:

Tens of millions of illegal aliens were so emboldened by their friend George Bush, from coast to coast they marched though American towns and cities, by the millions, making threats and demands....(During wartime yet)

Dallas Texas
