Personally, I am more comfortable concealed. The gun is easily taken from a holster by someone sneaking up behind you if they can see it. Pickpockets can steal a wallet out of a jacket pocket without you knowing it. Just my personal preference. Especially in a mall or crowded space. Live in Tx, have a license.

Well, that type of criminal is looking for a quick out anyway...not exactly likely though. Anyone of minimal intelligence would place himself out of distance of anyone he knew was carrying when attempting to commit a crime. Understand your thought process, but almost sure that it is NOT what a criminal would think...(unless desperate needing a quick crack fix)...and even then unlikely.

I, also, have a TX CHL. However, I want open carry legalized here so that I don't have to remember to slip on a jacket or overshirt every time I step outside my home or auto. And I definitely want to repeal the idea that if your piece "prints through" or is inadvertently exposed, you are no longer "carrying concealed" and are at risk of arrest.

Tactically, I prefer and recommend concealment. However, I frequently "do my thing" with my empty P7 holster openly displayed on my belt (and with a well-concealed backup). If anyone comments, I say,

"I didn't feel like covering up, but, out of courtesy, I secured my piece elsewhere. Don't let a little hunk of leather bother you..."

That gets across the point that I know and exercise my rights -- responsibly -- and helps get others used to the idea...

I accept no infringement on my Second Amendment rights. I consider the holster display to be "Civil Defiance", rather than outright "Civil Disobedience" as a protest of the current unreasonable infringement.
