So is the race between the R and the C. Is the D even in the race anymore?

So is the Washington leadership. If the district goes to a Democrat so be it. But we'll know who fumbled away the seat if Hoffman doesn't win.

When David Duke was the top Republican vote-getter in the Louisiana in 1991, the entire Republican establishment rightly withdrew support for the nominee, preferring Edwin Edwards, a common political crook and a Democrat.
Scozzafava is out of bounds for conservatives just as David Duke is.

Exactly.
It may be factual, but I dont like the way this article is written in several places. The choice of words. Sounds like a lib writing this.

Scozzafava isnat a pragmatist, shes a liberal.Years ago the Christian Science Monitor and U.S. News and World Report were solidly conservative publications. Since they have been slowly penetrated by The Left so they are now almost like all the others.

Scozzafava isn't a pragmatist, shes a liberal. You caught that too. Implication being of course that conservatives are not earthbound pragmatists.
IMO, it is a LACK of pragmatism on the part of the Republican party to be backing Scozzafava. Pragmatism is backing a conservative candidate that can win a conservative district.
Common sense. A rare commodity at GOP headquarters. They don't even have brainstorming sessions there....can't be done without brains.
