Plagued by his own plummeting polls and playing to empty seats at a high-roller Hub fund-raiser, President Obama acknowledged yesterday that his close friend and political alter ego Gov. Deval Patrick faces a rough road to re-election.
“There really should be no doubt that this guy gets a second term. But let’s be honest. This is going to be a tough race,” Obama told a room barely half-full with 125 deep-pocketed Democrats who ponied up $6,000 for Patrick and the party. “Re-election is not a foregone conclusion because times are tough.”
Reflecting those hard times, the swanky Westin Copley Place ballroom - where the subsequent $500-a-head fund-raiser was held - was “about two-thirds full,” with about 400 people attending, according to press pool reports.

Obama can't even get moonbats to fill a room in liberal Massachusetts. Howie Carr was joking about how sales were also slow in the "Have Your Picture Taken With Obama for Thousands of Dollars" booth at this shindig.
Deval Patrick is to Michael Dukakis as Obama is to Jimmy Carter. I think he loses in 2010, because things are about as bad here as during the Dark Dukakis Days. If I was overly optimistic, I'd also hope to see Scott Brown, who actually seems to be a conservative, win the open Senate seat in January.

Ted Kennedy's seat? Dream on! This is Massachusetts after all.

Obamao is omnipresent, everywhere, always talking, never shutting up. Why would anyone waste money to hear him do what he always does, especially when he is such a lousy speaker, even when the teleprompter is working right? Save money, and watch FOX News.

Normally that's true for libs...until they are the ones to lose their jobs. There is a $600,000,000 budget gap here in Massachusetts...and the state layoffs or unpaid furloughs are right around the corner (so I hear). And here they thought raising the sales tax would make things better...

Deval looks like he's thinking:
What you talkin' about, Willis?
I used to think the Herald sought out goofy pictures of Deval Patrick to accompany their news articles, but it seems that goofy is his normal look!

Frankly, I’d like to see Deval re-elected. As far as I am concerned, most Massachusetts voters (sorry conservatives) deserve Deval and the disaster he brings.

Re-election is not a foregone conclusion because times are tough. Did this Obama comment strike anyone the way it did me? Was Obama saying that when times are tough, republicans usually get elected to fix things and that democrats get elected when things are running well?

It sure sounds like an admission of responsibility, doesn’t it? That had to be a slip...teleprompter on the fritz?

$500 a seat? That's chump change for a fundraising dinner. Why didn't some Boston area Freepers crash this party? It would have been $500 well spent.
Note to Deval: Here Comes the Bus.

You will be branded a racist if you don’t vote for my hand picked candidate.
