I doubt you could get swine flu vaccine now.
I recommend you have your doctor and pediatrician write prescriptions for Tamiflu for you and your child, and buy it now and have it available so that you can start immediately (within 24-48 hours) if/when you or child get symptoms of flu.
It’s great in knocking out the virus quickly so it can decrease the damage done to vulnerable lungs that can lead to morbity or mortality.
That it is... Being the noid parent I am, I took my other child to the clinic the morning she woke with 104 and a sore throat earlier this year. She was prescribed Tamiflu (when she had a test positive for flu A, subsequentially h1n1), as were her sibling and I, due to our asthma.
She went from severe to normal in 24 hours. We didn't get sick.
Good suggestion. I'm going to get some stitches removed this week, I'll ask for a preemptive script and fill it. Thanks.
BTW, I'm amused by the scare stories regarding the use of Tamiflu... subterfuge?
