The U.S. Senate has passed the homosexual hate-crimes bill and will now send it to President Obama to sign it into law. This bill is a trojan horse to legitimize the creation of more laws that will completely obliterate the 1st amendment of the United States.
Many homosexual organizations say this is a victory, however they are just being used to further infringe on Americans rights to free speech.
In a 68-29 vote, senators passed 2010 National Defense Authorization Act, which includes the hate crimes measure that adds “sexual orientation” and “gender identity,” as well as disability, to the current categories — such as race, religion and gender — protected from hate crimes. The House of Representatives voted 281-146 on Oct. 8 for the same defense legislation, which was used as a vehicle for the hate-crimes measure though it is not directly related to the controversial provision. President Obama has said he would sign the bill.
Any “hate crimes” bill is a disaster for the 1st amendment and leads into the direction of a nanny government.. we are all grown-ups, correct? When someone puts you down whether it’s about race, gender, sexual orientation do we really want the federal government and the police to get involved in such petty affairs? And shouldn’t the police and the government be investing their time on more serious situations? Any ‘hate crimes’ bill is just a step towards the end of the 1st amendment and stepping into the direction of a nanny government, handing out fines and putting people in prison for hate speech.

The Brownshirts are back.
Walkie Talkies come out of their mouth every time they say the Sheriff is Near.
It’s also another spending bill, potentially. Up to $100,000 per jurisdiction per year. Developing “community groups” and “infrastructure” to address “the concerns and needs of all affected parties”. I’m not sure how many jurisdictions there are in this country, but the motive for so much governmental support on the local level is pretty clear.
A new hate speech law against Christians!
It seems like many Republicans voted for this bill too. I believe that we are getting so many bad bills (health care, cap and trade, soon to be don’t ask, don’t tell and many many others) that the Republicans are trying to only fight the biggies like cap and trade and the health care bill and letting the smaller bills be voted in. Of course the Republicans are not strong enough to fight everything...that is why they are in the minority.
It seems like this law is an unconstitutional restriction on free speech and should be thrown out by the courts. I wonder if some GOP congressmen are counting on the courts to strike down this part of the bill?
I’m still upset that the homo’s kidnapped the term “gay”. It used to be such a happy word.
Puts me in mind of an anecdote from my long lost FAMOUS INSULTS: A man had been convicted of slander in a British court for calling a Lady a “pig”, and ordered to apologize. He addressed the judge, “Then I may not call a lady a pig?” “No, you may not.” “But may I address a pig as madam?” “Yes, you may.” “Then madam, I apologize.”
Re: “A new hate speech law against Christians!”
Yes! Absolutely correct. This is the legal step to making any criticism of homosexuality to be “hate speech” i.e. sermons, not hiring “gay” teachers or staff at private schools or churchs.
This will utlimately be used to make it a federal crime for a pastor or priest to preach that homosexuality is a sin.
Oh, lordy! I met a couple from Guam and the husband had a distant male ancestor whose Irish surname was ‘Gay’.
They were not happy that homosexuals had appropriated that name.
Some politician, just for the sake of pointing out how absurd this whole concept is, ought to propose a bill renaming the normal crimes of violence as “mildly irritated crimes”.
Is owning a bible going to be possessing hate literature too? Where are the laws against teaching hate for infidels?
Yeah, that pairs up nicely with my “Han shot first” shirt.
I hope someone is preparing to take this to court ASAP. The whole idea of 'hate crimes' sounds unconstitutional to me.
as did “hope”...
There is no way you can tell me that attacks against “this country” have anything at all to do with me or my family. We have no right to judge anyone when this is what we’ve degenerated into.
