I’m not sure what you mean. My point had been that polls have importance in the political realm. And often, genuine science (or genuine truth - about candidates or whatever) may or may not be listened to.
That is why government power must be kept to legitimate government powers, while letting free enterprise handle other aspects. A politicized economy lookes like Soviet Union, politicized medicine looks like Auschwitz, politicized transportation looks like the Indian Motor Railway system. Politicized religion looks like the Papacy.
