And (some? most? all of?) the blame for this current widespread D deficiency (and it is well-documented) can be laid at the feet of the dermatologists and the MSM for scaring the begeezes out of people re the sun and skin cancer. Many older folks (esp. women) treat the sun as if they were vampires.

Even in the summer, 20 minutes of sun w/o sunscreen will give you enough natural D.
