You are so right. Sometimes I just wonder what George Washington and John Adams would have done in our situation. Our situation is really quite different than what they faced. Even though not all the colonists agreed with breaking off from Britain, at least they were pretty much all on the same page in religion, philosophy, education, etc. They didn’t have an out of control government AND 1/3 - 1/2 of the population that was 180% polar opposites in values and philosophy, and in agreement with the oppressive government. I don’t know if it is possible to recapture the hearts and minds of that portion of the population. Some days I have hope it is possible, other times I think as many on this thread, that our options are not looking very promising. The one thing I do know, if conservatives are able to take back the government peacefully, we will have only a short window to make some really radical changes to set our country back to where it should be and educate our populace, and if we miss the window this time, there probably won’t be another chance.

Our situation is much more dire than anything they faced. That is why I credit Ronald Reagan as the greatest President in American history - the stakes are much higher. At least the colonists weren’t facing imminent slavery.

Agreed for the most part. One has to wonder what might happen if on the outside chance it's found that odinga is not eligible for the office. AND that he is subsequently removed from office. What will the dregs holed up in the metropolitan areas likely do?

ALSO, if conservatives are able to hold enough of the marxists' program implementation at bay until next election, what will happen if there is a complete rout of the Dims in 2010? Or, can we even wait that long to see how bad things will get? Can most of the havoc let loose under odinga and the Dims be undone? So much of what they are proposing once set in motion will be almost impossible to do anything with. To wit: medicare and social security are bankrupting the country but nobody, I mean NOBODY will address the elephant in the living room by asking the OBVIOUS question, "Why don't we phase out Medicare and social security"? George Bush actually tried bringing a solution of sorts but was eviscerated by the dinomedia and the dims.

Well, my attention keeps being diverted. THREE grandkids are here for a weekend visit and I can barely type a complete sentence without interruption, so...
