Such gobbledygook will ensure that thousands of young Americans who might have pursued careers in science or engineering will instead pursue careers as gobbledygook interpreters -- as lawyers, consultants, and bureaucrats.
Seems to be overly redundant to me.
All those careers were downsized and outsourced by the previous administration's "free trade" policies anyway.

It’s no big deal anyway.

I mean really...when the Dollar goes belly up and Zimbabwian hyperinflation hits the Ol’ USofA, even if you COULD sell your house, you’d still only get $3.27 for it.

Hey! Come to think of it... That’s even more than my house is worth right NOW!

Absent anything else, given “prospective buyers, who would have to be as stupid as Henry Waxman to buy a substandard house and risk the possibility that the government will someday force them to bring it up to standard” then you can't sell the property unless you reduce the selling price enough to make up for the risk to the buyer. Lot's of people reducing the selling price of their homes will bring down real estate values. Lower real estate values mean lower real estate tax revenue to local governments.

Local government won't like that.

And now for something different. When I spell checked this the first time, every word was indicated as misspelled. When I backed out and tried again, it was OK. I wonder what that was about.

unsalable

I think it means that which can't be sold. Not a good thing.

Let's see, in the midwest, evergreens on the north, maple or large leaf oak on the west, short trees (maybe a dogwood, redbud, or crabapple), or none, on the south, and same for the east.

I mean, c'mon, how hard can it be?

"The Bill basically says you have to have an OK by a Green inspector"

If Green Inspectors do not exist yet - the bill not having been passed - can I be prosecuted for calling on everyone to kill a Green Inspector for Christmas?

No it doesn’t give the medical term just the common one.

The ultimate goal is for the government to control all financial transactions. This would include the sale of houses. They can’t seize total control just yet, so they are happy, for how, with this.

This is on the order of *asbestos* *lead paint* etc., Just be thankful our houses are not listed as *historical landmarks* as in the UK, where ownership of land does not guarantee that the *owner* can build a home without approval for every nook & cranny - or improve an existing building if it listed with the National Trust.

It’s almost as if the Queen still owns the whole kit & kaboodle in the UK and almost as if the Federal Gubmint is the US landlord from sea to shining sea.

This is probably being pushed by certain segments of the home building industry, certainly by the subcontractors. They would love the government to mandate that you buy a new furnace, A/C, water heater, roof, windows, etc...

Just like the refrigeration industry was all for the ban on R12 freon; everyone had to buy new refrigeration units.

"Congress is planning to make your home unsalable"

Once again, ask the Brits about this. Idiot Brown has tried this over in nthe UK. You couldn't sell a house because there were not enough inspectors and the law said you could not START the sale process until you were certified!. Then along came the inspector to 'help' you!

I sometimes think that the UK and the USA governments are watching each other "Didn't work for you. Bet I can do it better!"

H.R. 2454 is the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. Its sponsor is the creepiest-looking member of the House, Henry Waxman (D-CA), who resembles Heinrich Himmler in appearance,

He looks more like Mr. Potato Head. LOL
