She might want to think twice about going there to campaign, since this historically republican district went for obamao last year.
Last year, this district went 65% for John McHugh, a relatively conservative Republican. On the same ballot McCain(/Palin) lost. The message might have been Conservative=Yes, RINO=No.

On the issues, Hoffman is much closer to McHugh than either of the other candidates. Scozzafava is the furthest from McHugh, and is a longshot on the issues.
There are problems, though. Scozzafava has been elected by part of this district many times. Hoffman has never held elective office.
Hoffman also hasn’t boned up on all the local issues. He had a rough interview with a local newspaper this morning. They were asking questions which they took from an editorial piece they published this morning (well before the interview).
But I have heard that Hoffman has the better ground game. He is lining up volunteers for a big get out the vote push on election day.
