I know the checks and balances are there but it is baffling why the majority in Congress does not rise up against this onslaught of the Constitution...but, then, they probably haven’t ever read it. They don’t read anything else, why should one “assume” they have read the Constitution.

Yes, ignorance probably does have a lot to do with it, but I'm also thinking it's the *my guy in the White House* syndrome, in part why many members of the opposition party fail to hold the executive accountable, they want to allow the same violations when it's *their guy* in the chair.

They seem to fail to understand that it is THEIR power that is being usurped, almost on a daily basis. This issue here, it is outrageous, totally anti-anything this country has stood for lo these two-plus centuries, it's telling that Members of Congress, both houses, don't object en masse.

On this I can only come to the conclusion that the entire political class is corrupt. They're on the take. They and all their friends are making out great. They don't care what happens to the peasants, the under class.
