Which is why Scozzafava needs to do the right thing and get the hell out of the way so Hoffman—the conservative who SHOULD have been the Republican candidate—can win the race.

Frum’s problem, and the problem of so many Beltway insiders like him, is that they blame the conservatives for not rolling over and taking it when the Republicans nominate, in effect, a Democrat as a Republican candidate. He’s got it exactly backward. The problem is that the Republican power brokers refuse to listen to their base—us—when we tell them, again and again and again, that CONSERVATIVES WIN ELECTIONS. And if it takes a Democrat representing the New York 23rd, then maybe that’s what it’ll take to wake these morons up.

Yeah, I would say when the Republican Party puts up a candidate and another Republican jumps in to split the vote, the “jumper-in-er” should be the focus of the blame.
