To: Just mythoughts
It is written that upon the death of our Saviour on the cross the veil in the temple was rent from top to bottom and any who would had direct access to the Heavenly Father through HIS only Begotten Son. Flesh man was no long needed to perform this prior duty.

One question:

If you think God doesn't desire that mankind participate in the work of salvation, why did He bother to become incarnate?

I do not understand your question. Temple curtain practices ended in Matthew 27:50 Jesus, when He had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51 And, behold, the veil of the Temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

There is no more that 'veil' or curtain literally or figurative for the priest to do work behind.
