I've noticed that whenever someone makes a idiotic crack about altar boys, they never manage to spell it correctly.

I'd add, as a personal note, that I used to be a little Altar Boy. Also a big Altar Boy.

Sometimes, adults would come looking for me ... usually Sr. Mary Alice.

Some kid had just gotten the Flu, or broken his leg, or some such ... she needed some poor schmuck to fill in for him.
