Dems Breathe Life into NY Conservative by Attacking Him
ABC News, George's Bottom Line ^ | October 21, 2009 4:55 PM | George Stephanopoulos

ABC News' David Chalian reports on the prospect of “blowback” for Dems in NY-23:

There’s an old adage in politics.  If your opponent is attacking you, you must be doing something right.  In the special House race taking place in northern New York State, that adage is likely giving some comfort to the Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman.

The thing I found most interesting in this piece is that George actually linked to Hoffman’s web site.

Doug Hoffman is the Conservative alternative in this race (or Hoffman by PayPal).

Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.

Scozzafava also holds these positions:

Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.

This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” libeRal democRat. Mark Steyn has coined the term DIABLO for her and others like her. Democrat In All But Label Only.

There are also at least 17 unprincipled DIABLO enablers in the house who have donated funds or otherwise supported to this LibeRal democRat's DIABLO’s campaign. They include Boehner, Cantor, Sessions, Hensarling, Brown-Waite and McCotter. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These unprincipled enablers should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year. Also, perhaps those of us who donated to the RNC or RCCC should ask for our money back so we can support the conservative candidates of our choice.

From the desk of
cc2k:
I support Doug Hoffman for Congress (PayPal).

Please, spread the word about this important election on November 3, 2009 in New York’s 23rd congressional district.

Now is the perfect time and this is the perfect place for Sarah Palin to make her prescence felt as an advocate for Conservative candidates and put fear and trembling in the RINO GOP establishment.

At first I had mixed feelings about Sarah getting involved, but with this race now a National issue and the GOP making an ass out of itself by endorsing the RINO, I think you’re right. The time for her to strike is now, with either a FB statement or just dropping what she’s currently doing and making the long 12-hour flight down to NY to do an in person endorsement.

I had mixed feelings too. However, with a bit of thought, I’ve come to realize this may be THE place for Palin to jump in with a ringing endorsement. Does a plurality win this race or would it go to a run-off?

No run off.

35% or so could win it.

Its Hoffman’s move to play. Palin should stay out of it unless asked. I hope he does ask for her endorsement, but its not Sarah’s place to jump in the fray.

Would it be inappropriate for Sarah to comment on the GOP candidate without mentioning Hoffman at all?

I agree. Its Hoffman’s call to make. I am quite sure Sarah would jump in if asked/invited to help out.
