Though I’m not pregnant, I do have asthma - the last dr. appt. my hubby had - doc went on and on about how hubby, son, and I MUST have the H1N1 vaccine because of my asthma... blah, blah... If this hits our community, the town will shut down, no power, no water... blah blah... this one kills... blah blah

Total hype of worse case scenario.

So much of the H1N1 is hype, but for pregnant women, you have to be especially careful... I’d be tempted to get it if I were pregnant, but I don’t know....

All I can say is pray about it.

Did the doctor tell you to take the nasal vaccine?

Pregnant women can’t take the nasal vaccine. That’s also the one with most of the controversy. The shot is the killed vaccine that’s supposedly (my doctor said) manufactured the same way as the regular flu shot.

Thanks for everyone’s comments. I’d be less hesitant about taking the shot if the anthrax vaccine hadn’t turned out so badly. My husband was in the military at the time and refused it. They kept saying it was safe, nothing to worry about, etc.
