She was likely suicidal on that day. Any number of personal problems could lead to that.

It is also probably true that a sane robber would quiclky see that there is no point in adding crime upon crime by shooting her if the money is still not accessible. But what is the chance that a robber is reasonable? Wise, reasonable people usually don't rob banks, they own them (or at least work at them.)

My thoughts exactly. Depression? Suicidal? Or just plain stupid?

And she should be fired. There is NO REASON to further provoke a volatile situation. You hand over the money. Period.

My apologies in advance but I intend to paint with a broad brush.

1. The robber usually only takes your money once.
2. Once you've given him your money the robber doesn't send you emails letting you know of his newest robbing techniques.
3. The robber doesn't ask you to deposit the money straight into his account so he can access it sooner.
4. The robber doesn't charge you an extra three bucks if you are out of town and get robbed by another robber.
5. The robber doesn't take your money at exactly midnight and then charge you an extra $50 because your check didn't clear until a nanosecond after the robbery.
