A British nuclear expert has plunged to his death from the 17th floor of a United Nations HQ, just as top-level talks with Iran began.
The 47-year-old official, only identified so far as Timothy H, toppled about 120ft from the UN's building in the Austrian capital yesterday.
He is believed to have been a member of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organisation and was due to take part in the UN-Iran discussions starting today.
The UN is the Chicago way on steroids.

There was a story I read, just yesterday, I think. The main point of it was that a collection of specific Iranian actions and announcements related to their nuclear program lead an intelligence analyst to conclude that the Iranians had been tipped off.
Some sort of joint team, comprised of US, UK, and French personnel, had been developing intelligence concerning the Iranian nuclear facility at Qom, I think. Just before exposing what they had learned to the world at a scheduled event, the Iranians beat them to the punch with an announcement and maybe moved some stuff. The consclusion was that there was a leak.

Four months ago another UN worker also believed to be British fell a similar distance at the same building, according to other staff working there.

Police are investigating after a British nuclear energy expert involved in negotiations with Iran over its nuclear programme fell 40 metres to his death from a UN building in Vienna.
Officials announced today (Weds) that the man – named as Timothy Hampton – died on the spot yesterday after a fall from the 17th floor at Vienna International Centre (VIC), one of the United Nations’ (UN) main headquarters along with New York, Nairobi and Geneva.
Authorities said the 47-year-old man – a member of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) – had joined the UN’s current talks with Iran over its nuclear programme.
Investigators refused to reveal any further information on the case but said they ordered an autopsy.
The UN press office refused to comment, but staff told the Austrian Times that there had been a similar case recently in which an employee died when he fell from a comparable height.

HUH? This is the second UN British ‘worker’ to ‘fall’ to their death at the same building?!! WTH is going on? Good digging as always mag. I guess the question is who is killing these people? Wonder if we can find out some things about these two people...like professional papers they have written, etc. Would love to get a feel for their policy standpoints. El Baradei has always been untrustworthy and in need of investigating. I had hoped that President Bush would put the CIA on his tail...hopefully he did. My wild guess is that this somehow involves him.

We should dig a little into this stuff. Obama, just last week, fired all of our nuclear arsenal generals(air force and navy). That’s not just something you do imho. It takes years to understand all of that stuff. This is very disconcerting to say the least.
