Personally, I’d make a BIG exception for Almighty God in that sentiment... but otherwise, it’s pretty good.

I remember working on my Dad's bills after Mom passed away. I noticed a rather large monthly bill from AARP. I asked my Dad what benefit was he getting? He said it was required for Medicare... Huh? They had him convinced....until I noticed he had received "no" benefit because he hadn't ever filled a claim....
That was my first lesson on AARP...long ago.
Don't put it in the trash. Simply remove the membership form, throw it away, and then stuff the prepaid return envelope as fully as you can. Send them back the rest of the stuff that was in their mailing, along with pages from catalogs, pieces of paper from other mailings .. and, as I do, 3 flat 1-oz lead fishing sinkers. Seal the envelope and mail it back to them; they're paying the postage.
Either, eventually, they'll get the hint and stop mailing you these things or you'll get the enjoyment of having them partially pay for your trash paper removal.
