The restless grass roots; Moderates may get outmaneuvered
The Washington Times ^ | 2009-10-18 | Bill Wilson

For decades, political observers have watched with fascination the battle raging inside the Republican Party. Whether the contest has been between Sen. Robert Taft and Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, between Barry Goldwater and Nelson A. Rockefeller, or Ronald Reagan and Gerald R. Ford, the battle has always been viewed as a fight between "conservatives" and so-called "moderates."

However, as recent events reveal, such a formulation misses the point. In fact, the real battle being waged is between Washington insiders - as represented by the congressional wing of the Republican Party - and grass-roots Americans from all walks of life throughout the country.

The response coming back from the congressional wing is invariably the same: They do what they want to do, not what the people who sent them to Washington want them to do. You and I are irrelevant.

Hit them where it hurts - in their wallets! NO MONEY to the RNC - send $10-15-20 to each individual Conservative running next year - let’s make a difference in 2010! OUT WITH LIBERALS and RINOs - in with those who SUPPORT the constitution of the United States of America or there may not BE a constitution to support after 2010!

I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice!

And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

A leaflet?

More like toilet paper.

They will no longer sit by silently and take whatever scrap is thrown their way. They increasingly are taking Mr. Graham's advice - they are leaving.

Or in the case of political cross-dresser Lindsey Graham...we're staying and HE is leaving!

Mister Graham, I'll wager, figures to be the next GOP pres candidate via the McCain (and Clinton) tactic of triangulation.

But triangulation will NOT work for Mister Graham, because...

1. Triangulation does not work if it's an obvious, insincere tactic to try to please two distinctly opposing camps; aka sellout of one or both sides highly suspected.

2. It is the least honest, and least predictable of all political positions, meaning Mr. Graham has no identifiable fixed moral compass. What's more, triangulaters must continually lie to one side or the other (or both). We voters just sort of hate that snake oil flim-flamming, and would much prefer someone with honesty and character and stable predictablilty.

3. We have seen triangulation fail. Mister McCain came in a distant second because the heart of his party did not trust him or hadn't the enthusiasm to support or vote for him. Once burned, twice shy.

So it is, political cross-dressing Lindsey Graham; we see you as a sellout, we do not trust you, and we are certain that you would fail as GOP presidential candidate.

Any questions?

If rumors are correct Lindsay is more than just a political cross-dresser.

Sounds likes this might be another fringe faction pushing the the causes of the limousine libertarian agenda and not traditional constitutional conservatism. Wonder of those nutbars Ronpaul, Lew Rockwell or Thomas DiLorenzo have anything to do with this.

The Republican Party of Linday Graham is falling down around his feet like the Anglican Church is falling down around the Feet of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Both men have refused to take a principled stand for anything but their own vainglorious hides.

NO MONEY to the RNC .....

That's where I've been for 35 years, ever since I saw Gerald Ford's campaign people come to our (oil company) offices in New Orleans to hit up our exploration manager for a contribution to Ford's campaign. I figured that if they had old Ed Malone's money, they didn't need mine.

DiLorenzo? What has he to do with Ron Paul? Approximately zero, I think .....

He's a revisionist Civil War historian, not a libertarian whack job. AFAIK he has no interest in the internal wrangles of the GOP.

Did I hear Rush correctly yesterday in the last segment?

Did he say something to the effect the GOP is done, dead, or over?

Yikes. I’d like to know the answer to that question also. I do know that Rush is totally against starting a 3rd party; he wants us to takeover the GOP. But, Rush also complains about the GOP leadership a bit.

>>>>>DiLorenzo? What has he to do with Ron Paul? Approximately zero, I think .....

Let me set you straight about a few things. DiLorenzo is a revisionist historian on President Lincoln. Hates old Abe with a passion and calls him a warmonger. Has this foolish notion that Lincoln destroyed the Republic. DiLorenzo is a nutbar. He also happens to be a libertarian who is very friendly with another libertarian named, Lew Rockwell. See his writings at lewrockwell.com The same Lew Rockwell who is friends with Ron Paul. The same Ron Paul who has close relations with the Ludwig von Mises Institute that is chaired by Lew Rockwell. Rockwell is another Lincoln hater.

Lew Rockwell is a student of the founder of modern libertrainism, Murry Rothbard. Rothbard was another nutbar who hated Ronald Reagan. Read the nasty and vile things Rothbard had to say about our 40th President in Ronald Reagan: An Autopsy by Murray N. Rothbard, March 1989.

In 1988 Ron Paul was nominated by the Libertarian Party for president and ran against the Reagan agenda, at one point telling the Dallas Morning News, Reagan was a "dramatic failure" as President. Pual also said, "I want to totally disassociate myself from the Reagan Administration", Reagan was "a failure, yes, in, in many ways".

So there you have it. Two Lincoln haters and two Reagan haters. Four libertarians who are nothing but pathetic and worthless creatures.
