Yeah, the Maverick Security line has two models: the 18-1/2” and the 20”. I’m guessing they’re intended for use inside the home where you sometimes don’t have enough clearance for swinging the longer barrels in an arc to aim at an intruder or two.

I have an older brother who is one bad mofo. Retired about nine years ago E8. After AIT he went 82nd Airborne and humped the jungles of Panama for a while.

Then, he joined the Green Berets and after his training he went to Okinawa and spent time training the Thai border guards in drug interdiction.

He went back to the 82nd and fought in Panama with 6 confirmed kills and was in Saudi Arabia 3 days after Saddam invaded Kuwait. He was like a tunnel rat. At five foot nothing he entered bunkers and killed lots of people with his Colt 45 ACP. He told me he would go into the bunkers with “Silly String” in one hand and his 45 in the other. The Silly String exposed trip wires. They'd spray it and if it didn't hit he ground they knew they had to step over something. He told me how many he killed but I'm not sure I believe him. Those Army guys. They lie through their teeth. Anyway, he brought back a piss-pot full of medals.

At 38 he was Ranger qualified. He said all of the guys he trained with were 19, 20 or 21 years old.

He can kill me 20 different ways with a rolled up newspaper. I always tell him I can kill him with my little finger. LOL!

Anyways, for the last 5 years he has been in Iraq and Afghanistan with some Blackwater type group doing VIP security. He got back about a week ago and I talked with him today.

He just bought a Benneli 12 gauge M4 with an 18” barrel. A semi -auto that has 6 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber. Says it's the finest shotgun ever made. Told me the Special Ops guys use them in Iraq and Afghanistan when they kick the doors in, and they are always loaded with 00B.

He carries a Kimber Ultra Carry 45 ACP where ever he goes, always locked and cocked. He also showed me how Delta Force trains with the handgun, but it's perishable. If you don't train regularly you forget how to do it. It's a four step process.

The first step is to crouch down some and lower your profile.

The second step was to pull your firearm from your holster and release the lock.

The third was to pull the pistol up to the side of your ribcage and aimed at the enemy so you could fire immediately if you had to.

The fourth was to rail it out in front of you, take aim and fire. Two in the head, then one in the chest.

Me? I just like to hunt.
