Afghanistan: The president's decision to withhold more troops over the country's less-than-pristine election is nothing but stalling. For our soldiers, desperate for reinforcements, it's a slap in the face.
No doubt, a legitimate government, complete with free and fair elections, would be good for Afghanistan. Its Aug. 20 vote was loaded with trouble because the Taliban sliced off purple-inked fingers to discourage voting and because a United Nations electoral watchdog found widespread voter fraud.
Yes, correct the problems. But holding U.S. troop reinforcements hostage isn't the way to do it. Elections aren't why we have troops in that country. They're there to fight a war against terrorists that President Obama once declared to be "necessary."
Time is growing short, and the Taliban insurgency is gaining ground. Pakistan has struck hard against the Taliban in its western region, a campaign that could drive more terrorists into Afghanistan and make our war harder. Terrorist recruiting is up and the Taliban doesn't lack money. The Pentagon consensus is that the window to win is closing and the opportunity will be lost soon.

As CiC 0ba-Mao should have anticipated all of those possibilities and had his response ready. He has plenty of staff to research, analyze and brief him to get his input on upcoming matters. This should have been a priority.
The UN whined and cried, and finally threw out enough votes to give Karazi just 49& - forcing a new election.
So now in November, with winter closing off many voters, Karazi will get 51%+ of what at most will be a 10% turnout - making him "legit" in the eyes of the UN, John Kerry and obama ?
0bama wasn’t prepared because he is not acting like the Commander in Chief he is supposed to be, but rather like the Clueless in Chief. If you know what I mean
This the almost beggars belief! We have men in the field, facing a growing threat, with mounting casualties, and the putz in the Oval Office is still sitting on his brains, trying to make a decision on whether to reinforce or not.
The clowns he has surrounding him can’t think their way out of a paper bag. Of course, they all se the US military as unnecessary to begin with, and have no real concept of what their inability to commit additional forces may precipitate.
I despise Zero and all his advisors. Damn him to hell if he keeps fiddle-farting around!
0bama: Kenyan for “flaccid”.
I agree that 0ba-Mao and his reptilians aren’t very bright but I think he is dithering more for political reasons. Which makes me even angrier than his stupidity would.
I do know what you mean but I think it is mostly due to his political calculations. 0ba-Mao is a clear and present danger to our national security IMO. I make no apologies for the implied accusation in my opinion. I think the facts bear me out on that and accumulate at a steady pace daily.
President Hussein voted “Present.”
I fear that Hussein does know what he is doing or Soros does, anyway.
When you call him “stupid” you have to be assuming that he is on our(USA) side in the first place.
Ah, but it was a priority -- a political priority, not a military priority.
Obama is not acting as the Commander-in-Chief. Nor even the President of the USA.
Instead, he is solely concerned with being the leader of the Democrat party.
This isn’t an accident. He’s sacrificing them so when he pulls out he can say it was the only choice. He doesn’t care about them, and most of the people that voted for him feel the same way.
As you can see I didn’t give that option much weight.
I have a feeling his ambitions exceed being the leader of the Dem Party.
Key point - delay until winter - no troops will be sent until Spring, even if the ditherer-in-chief decides to send them - which he will not do!!!
To make it more concise, Obama is a coward and an appeaser.
To condense it down further, Obama Lies as Soldiers Die.
