WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin will sit down with Oprah Winfrey the day before her new memoir hits bookstores, Harpo announced Tuesday.
The former Alaska governor will make the appearance on Oprah on November 16 to talk about her highly anticipated tell-all, "Going Rogue: An American Life."
Palin has never before appeared on the popular daytime talk show. Last December, Winfrey said she had invited her on the show to discuss the election, but suggested at the time that Palin had instead chose other interviewers

yeah, for sure. However, a year has passed since the last election cycle. So, she should be more seasoned and media savvy than when she ran as McIdiot’s running mate. The Oprah Show will be a good litmus test to determine if she has stepped up her game during the past year. We’ll see...
My lib inlaws like to tease me about what a dumb bunny Palin is (they quote things off of SNL, they bring up the Couric interview, etc..) I try to straighten the record but they are convinced. I hope she does well in this interview, I know some lib female friends will likely see it. If she blows it, I’m done defending her, and I really do like her.
AS the Front Runner for the 2012 GOP Nomination, Sarah has no reason to go on Oprah.However, as an author, Sarah will be helped by going on Oprah.
Sarah is not the frontrunner right now. In fact, she has a huge mountain to climb. But Oprah's a good place to start, and I expect some land mines along the way. Oprah is a friend of the President, but I don't expect Oprah to sacrifice her credibility for the Obamas.

A case can be made that those applying the race card are the evil doers in our midsts, and I think most Americans are ready to accept that assertion.
SNL was scripted, very low risk there. Submitting to interviews by Oprah or, for that matter, any network anchor is a mistake with a lot more potential for loss than gain. Sarah has already demonstrated that she can do the unconventional and come out on top, so why not do the unconventional again: Ignore Oprah, ignore ABCNNBCBS, and refuse any and all debates “moderated” by network operatives.

The way that Oprah treated Sarah Palin during the election campagin last year was disgraceful.
And in response, Sarah Palin is going to appear on Oprah’s show? Sarah really must really want to sell her book , no matter what.

A “tell-all”? The MSM is confusing this book with what they report on Sarah.

Oprah is arguably the most successful female in the history of show business. Lucille Ball is the only other one I can think of who came close to Oprah’s combination of wealth, popularity and influence.
She did Couric and Gibson and got chopped up into little pieces. Doesn’t seem like she has learned from the experience.
I don't think I agree with that. I don't know if Oprah is the right venue, or now is the right time, but at some point, Palin is going to have to submit to the long-form, sit-down policy-based interviews and begin to put together a coherent and lengthy policy and issue answers.
While she is rabidly popular with the base, and especially social conservatives, her 18% showing in the Rasmussen poll indicates that she's anything but on top. For her to have a legitimate shot of national office, she's going to have to appeal to a larger audience - in short, many more people are going to have start taking her seriously on substantive policy issues. The only way she gets there, is by eventually sitting for these kinds of interviews, many of which are conducted without the comfort of a safety net, as was seen in the Gibson & Couric interviews.
I don't think Oprah will be make or break, but it won't be unimportant with respect to the broader electorate's perception of Palin.
No upside here. No matter what Palin says or does, it will be widely reported the she proved herself once more to be a lightweight, a featherbrain, a flibbertygibbet. And why go on the show of the one who gave us The One?
I thought Gibson looked like a pompous ass. How did he ‘chop her to pieces’? Couric? Hahahahahaha.
And we’re talking Sarah, McCain’s VP. Now that the chain is broken...besides Oprah isn’t a hardball interviewer.
