Scozzafava calls cops on reporter who asked her about Card Check
Washington Examiner (not the blog) ^ | 10/20/2009 | Mark Tapscott

Posted on 10/20/2009 5:10:09 AM PDT by markomalley

John McCormack is a reporter working for The Weekly Standard. Dede Scozzafava is the extremely liberal New York Assemblywoman running as a Republican to succeed Rep. John McHugh from the Empire State's 23rd congressional district in the upcoming special election.

Scozzafava was speaking at a GOP dinner Monday evening. McCormack was reporting on Scozzafava's campaign, including her recent pledge to the AFL-CIO to support Big Labor's top legislative objective, the Card Check proposal - currently stalled in Congress -  to abolish the secret ballot in workplace representation elections.

Scozzafava apparently didn't appreciate being asked about her support of Card Check because after she left and McCormack went to his laptop to file a report on the evening's event, the police showed up. What happened next is .... well, here's McCormack's description:

"Minutes later a police car drove into the parking lot with its lights flashing. Officer Grolman informed me that she was called because 'there was a little bit of an uncomfortable situation' and then took down my name, date of birth, and address.

"'Maybe we do things a little differently here, but you know, persistence in that area, you scared the candidate a little bit,' Officer Grolman told me. '[Scozzafava] got startled, that's all,' Officer Grolman added. 'It's not like you're in any trouble.'"

In thug politics, this is what they call "delivering a little message." You're not in trouble, this time. Go here for the rest of McCormack's report on an evening that says everything about why Scozzafava epitomizes the worst symptoms of Republican Disease.

Exactly, and it can be a very quiet revolution carried out with very little in the way of communication between conspirators. Just quit paying half of your taxes by adopting the barter system.

Two words: The courts. That’s the best thing George W. gave us, plus his willingness to confront terrorists.

Bush gave us Justice Alito and Justice Roberts.

I’d take George W.’s court picks any day over Obama’s
(Harriet Miers not withstanding!).

Another way is “Operation Thrift”...I started this a year ago...put off those large purchases, minimize spending, cut back on overtime (if possible) and you can reduce the amount of your cash headed to the parasites....300 million people at 300 dollars a year is nine hundred billion dollars...a big hit for the parasites

Sure she's a lefty, but she's a Republican lefty !

Like Specter? How long did he wait to switch parties? Were you one of the FReepers screeching for us to support him because, "if we don't support him the democrats win?"

It's "Republicans" like you that allow the GOP to run RINOs like "Maverick McCain!"

We must demand that the GOP return to conservative roots. If they fail to do so, there are enough conservatives to form a viable party.

I didn't say "third party" because we don't seem to have two parties.

I have given up on the republicrats .. to me THEY ARE a third party. They will speak out fiercely when it is time to get reelected .. and then spit on the constitution a the fist opportunity.

Take Boehner and his 40 Billion dollar Kennedy boondoggle .. spineless dirtbag, and Kennedy still called him names. To his face. Feel the love. Feel the collegiality and partisanship? No, have some balls. Have some principles ... something that is lacingin big time in this country.

How do I know their thoughts .. take just a minute and take the most so called conservative senator or congresscritter and listen carefully to what they say.

If asked by media “What do you thing about the health care bill?”

AND I GUARANDAMNTEE you every one, even the most conservative we have (close to extinction) first words are “We ALL agree that the systemn needs to be fixed”

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.........apologist richard craniums .. who says it needs to be fixed .. who says my neighbor should be foreced to pay for my health care ... who says an Illegal is NOT illegal and I must pay ....they are ALLL spineless wimps parroting the mantra of the day. Unprincipled blowing in the wind, soiled pieces of toilet paper.

Quit frankly, I want a constitutionalist to say .. it is none of our freaking business, let free market run, get rid of the confiscatory and unjust punitive law .. and the market will totally fix what ever is ailing the system. People willhave health care at half the cost to them right now. get government regulation out. Too simplistic you say .. no protection over bad service or prducet ... I ask you this .. how long dd the Yugo last. Market forces work and quikly. Edsel? I rest my case. Leisure suits of the the 70’s ... oh damn .... the market takes care of everything. Oil ... let the towel heads eat dirt instead of our grain. Oppps ... meddling now ...

Oh .. by the way .. who thinks Hatch and his moronic cronies have any business with the BCS .. let the eltiist money sucking educrats sports world take care of their own problems.

Tuition would be 1/3 of the cost if the gubmint stopped stepping in wtih funding ... inflatin never stops with the programs govt funds. Hmm helathcare and unviersity costs? Hmm both get funding from whers??? simplistic ... simplicity is genius.

want to buy a car from “lemon motors” callBr549 ... no regulations needed .. peole learn real quick how the best way to spend their money.

See where I am going with this .... next thing they will tell me what color I must paint my house ...oops, they arlready do

Hannity has become one of those NY republicans too. Slightly off topic, but I noticed he goes waaay out of his way not to insult the homo lobby.

Unfortunately, the “Producers” like to vote for the “Parasites”.

Liberal White Guilt comes to mind.

Since I’ve been “Retired” without compensation for the last ten months, we have been practicing a real “Operation Thrift”! The surprising thing is that even losing $70k in income hasn’t prevented us from having a roof over our heads and food on the table. Faith is a big factor and God has placed His people all around us. It also has surprised us how much money that we wasted on frivolous things.

"....it is no longer dem versus repub, or conservative versus liberal....it is now producer versus parasite..."

How about common sense and reality vs. fantasyland and pie-in-the-sky pipedreams?

Newt really screwed the pooch on this one...

Can we FINALLY be done with this sick douchebag once and for all? How do we get Hannity to stop bringing him on?

True story today:

My dad has been a major RNC donor for decades. Over his desk, he has a prized *personally* signed photo of Reagan, Bush I, Ford, and Nixon all together, EACH with a personal autograph TO HIM BY NAME, thanking him for his donation.

I sent him the ‘Scozz is a Rino’ article you had posted in Breaking News on Friday. He didn’t want to believe it, on Saturday he sent me her platform from her website and the RNC, saying - ‘see, this looks conservative’. I responded with a dozen links, documenting her union associations, ACORN, etc.

This morning, I sent him the Weekly Standard article about her using the Cops as her personal media bullies.

By lunch, he asked me if I had Hoffman’s website handy...he wanted to make a donation.

There you have it. The utterly bad seed that the RNC has sown with this- right there, being REAPED....first hand.

May it grow into a parasite and consume them.

"....300 million people at 300 dollars a year is nine hundred billion dollars..."

Agreed in principle. But that 300 million includes how many non-taxpaying infants, children, and teenagers -- and how-the-hell-many non-taxpaying adults?

The hit the parasites would take, assuming 100% participation among taxpayers, would probably be on the order of a couple hundred billion. Nothing to sneeze at, but damn -- I wish there were a way to strangle the spigot altogether!

oh, there is a way, it is just a question of how many people are willing to go down that road.....general strike starting on April 15 for one month....that should just about do it...
