Tell that to the people who survived Concentration Camps. Tell that to the families of children being held in Saddam's prisons as leverage against the parents.
“Tell that to the people who survived Concentration Camps. Tell that to the families of children being held in Saddam’s prisons as leverage against the parents.”
Why do people take things out of context. You don’t think those people would have been better off if their countries were not ruled by men who started wars? Wouldn’t it have been better if they were ruled, if they had to be ruled, by men who did not start wars and never put them in concentration camps and prisons in the first place.
The article clearly states, “That does not mean that things might not have been worse if the war was not fought, only that things would definitely have been better if there had been no war.”
So you tell those people it was better they got put in concentration camps and prisons so a war could be fought to free them, then it would have been if they had been left alone and no war was necessary.

That does not mean that things might not have been worse if the war was not fought, only that things would definitely have been better if there had been no war.
Huh?
If anyone can discern an actual meaning that is not entirely self-contradictory in that mish-mash of words, and explain it cogently, I'll offer a reward of praise.
I don't think it can be done.
