Where in the Constitution does it authorize: interstate & federally funded roads, the banning of substances like marijuana (especially given the light that a Constitutional amendment was needed to authorize a ban on ALCOHOL!), the permanent abridgment of the right to bear arms (felons), the USSC to declare that states may not consider the unborn as people and prosecute murderers according, the USSC legitimizing theft and larceny (under the eminent domain clause), the USSC declaring the federal government has the power to regulate privately used, sold, and grown grain wholly in a single state falling under INTERSTATE COMMERCE; where does it give Congress the power to make retroactive laws (AIG, telecomm, tax, etc), or laws targeting a person or class of people (AIG, telecom, etc), where does it allow the imposing of driver’s licenses given a right to travel freely between states?
One, and only one, of those things is specifically within the purview of Congress, under the name by which it was known at the time.
I leave you to discover which one.
Other than that, I agree entirely with the content and spirit of your post.
