Let’s get one thing straight. We conservatives are the true RINOs. The moderate/liberals have controlled the GOP for a long time, with occasional lapses - 1980 and 1994, to be precise. That’s why the GOP leaders, even those known as conservatives, have always supported the more liberal candidates in GOP primaries. I distinctly, and bitterly, remember all of them supporting Specter in 2004.
I’m not advocating at this time, a third party, but, until we learn that lesson, we will always find ourselves disappointed with the GOP’s willingness to expand government, sometimes more slowly than the Dems would, but as surely as the Dems do.
I have yet to see Republicans actually reduce government, with the exception of Reagan’s nips and tucks around the edges, or even stop it’s growth.
