British video spoof on the big bank bailouts.
Starts out slow but stick with it... it gets good.
Nice to know that the taxpayers of the United States have been shaken down to make sure garbage like this continues to live life in the manner to which they're accustomed. Maybe we should send Ruth Madoff some TARP funds.
We really shouldn't treat our oligarchs this way.
Very funny. Thanks for posting it.
“If I’ve learned nothing else... and I have learned nothing else...”
I’m afraid that pretty much captures the mentality of those in charge.
That was my thinking too.
How dare we.
Now in Russia, where an Oligarch is an Oligarch, why the GuardThugs would have made short work of the Little People in their way. And no one would have complained (because they would be dead).
One would expect that a Regulator should at least understand the words he is using.
Firstly, the taxpayers were shaken down by the government, not GS. Yes, I know, there is a widespread belief even here on FR that Wall Street lobbied for the bailout. They did lobby for many things but not the bailout: it was forced upon them by Bush and Paulson.
Secondly, the TARP money saved the shareholders of GS --- retirees, widows, orphans, savers for college. That is who received the benefits. What does this horrible woman have to do with that?
Thirdly, what evidence do you have that her lifestyle is in any way related to whatever money GS received? If GS went down tomorrow, her lifestyle would not change because of millions and millions of dollars her husband earned in long prior years. Buffet and Bill Gates have lost billions; their lifestyle did not change a single bit.
You don't bother with facts or logic. Just like Marxists, you appear to simply hate the "rich." Well you are surely in good company. It's funny to see such irrational and blind hatred in someone who fancies him/herself a conservative.
Perhaps you are unaware of the origin of the word in American history. It doesn't mean what you are assuming.
Take a stroll through the events that led to the breaking of the feudal bonds. Then you'll understand.
