Jeff, you and the others are good people but I’ve never understood this “Restore the Constitution” movement. What’s Constitutional is whatever the Supreme Court says it is. If you want to restore things that you beleive have been lost it can only be done 2 ways;

1. File federal lawsuits to get the SC to review, and hopefully decide in your favor, issues of unconstitutionality.

2. For #1 to work you need to make sure a person sympathetic to your opinions sits in the White House and elects judges of such nature.

Most of the public is oblivious to the true meaning of the contitution and always will be because they’re lazy and don’t care. Of course I understand that part of your program is to educate people but IMO you will never reach a success rate that could precipitate a large enough constitutional epiphany among the people to bring about the change that you desire.

Backing constitution enabled politicians is good but they will always be elected based on their positions on at least a dozen issues more important to the voters, bread and butter, taxes, abortion, etc.

I see the inherent value in your efforts but I don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes we waste a lot of good time, effot on money doing things that we like rather than things that could be most successful. Unfortunately I went down that path.

Bob, getting people elected at all levels of government, who are committed to fundamental constitutional principle will turn this around...from the school board, county, city, state legislature, congresds and Predient. That includes a lot of judges, sheriffs, etc. who are elected.

If we get a large enough block of voters insisting on this course of action...then the people at the state and national level who select judges will ultimately be constitutionally oriented and put in place those people who do have the right mind set.

It will take time...it took time to get where we are.

I also believe that we can turn the majority of citizens in this country to basing their voting decisions on constitutional principles as well, and not be side tracked by politicians promising bread and butter, non-constitutional solutions. That is the entire premise to the effort.

If we can, then over time we will restore constitutional principle, limited government, personal responsibility, and free marker principle to our nation.

I have no elsusion that this will be an ongoing, long term process. But it is precisely the process (IMHO) we need to elect good people to office.
