Hoffman opens campaign offices

Conservative Party congressional candidate Doug Hoffman opened campaign offices in Watertown, Plattsburgh and Canastota on Saturday.

He especially aimed his criticism at Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava, who signed an anti-tax pledge this week, apparently helping her pick up the endorsement of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Scozzafava had refused to sign the pledge earlier in the campaign and her campaign spokesman had called the pledge "a stunt," Hoffman said.

About that tax pledge, Scozzafava has a history of supporting tax hikes in New York. She signed the pledge “under duress” as a condition of getting Newt’s (foolish) endorsement and RNC/RCCC funding. She was dead in the water without more funds from the national party committees.

Please, send Hoffman a donation. I wish we would get behind him as strongly as we got behind Joe Wilson last month.

Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.

Scozzafava also holds these positions:

• Pro choice
• In favor of gay marriage
• In favor of Cap and Trade (I need to check my sources on this. Newt said she opposed this)
• In favor of Employee Free Choice Act (Card Check)
• In favor of the Stimulus
• In favor of Bank Bailouts

Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.

This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” democRat.

There are also 17 RINOs in the house who have donated funds to this Liberal democRat's campaign. They include Boehner and Cantor. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These RINOs should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year.

It’s time to run conservatives against the RINO’s and to punish the RINO’s and take votes from them even if it elects Demonrats. That’s the only way we can tell the RNC to run true conservatives. They seem to have a thick skull.

I have railed against third party candidacies before, and I still believe that reclaiming the GOP is conservatives’ best chance at power, but in at least this case, I’m not backing the Republican. I’ll be sending Mr. Hoffman a donation and urging others to do the same.

I give a ratz rear end about those that will flame about the evils of a third party. Keep electing what we do and keep getting more of the same ... I used to call it democrat lite ... not sure if their is even much distinction any more other than election day rhetoric.

The republicrat ditbags ARE the third party. Flush em down the sewer ... their stench and those that continually support their “crap” are odious.

I have serious doubts the RINOs would support the conservative candidate even if he (or she) was a Republican. After this latest stunt, I’m starting to think that RINOs main goal is not to win with a Republican candidate but simply to defeat the conservative one.

If Hoffman pulls into second you might have a point, but as of now he is still a pretty distant third with only a couple of weeks to go and well funded opponents.
