Because the industry is almost like drug dealers. You gotta have it when you need it and they can get away with charging as much as they can get.
Any other industry would have been shut down for usuery.

I could have just bought her one for about $300, but the nurse said Medicare would pay for it. Great. Medicare, buy her one.
Medicare said that yes, she can have a wheelchair, but it must be a rental. More like rent-to-own. They only pay for rent-to-own.
So the $300 wheelchair will end up costing Medicare $1400 by the time the rent-to-own contract is fulfilled.
How many old people are sitting in rented wheelchairs right now? Just one example of many.
No, usury is what banks charge on credit cards. Thanks to Delaware’s representation, the two Senators and lone representative got legilation passed that was written for them by Bank of America. The three bank employees dutifully got the legislation introduced and passed. Now all America pays. BTW, they did the same thing with bankruptcy laws.
