For them to arrange this could only occur if they geniunely see themselves as USUALLY under unreasonable attack.

Picture that —you just get the Nobel Prize FOR NOTHING, but you still think folks are treating you unfairly.

Really turn that over in your mind —what sorts of things would he have to get to get into his own COMFORT ZONE...?

You make a very important point.

I have no doubt that his handlers thought up the stunt, but they'd never have approached him with it unless they had confidence he'd go for it. A normal person would recoil at the idea, and whoever had suggested it would be looking for new jobs the same day. Could you imagine Reagan or even Bush if their teams had even suggested such a thing? Obama's comfort level lies in adulation, and his ease with fiction and stagecraft to achieve it mirrors too many of history's dictators to dismiss it as merely obnoxious.

Actually it’s more like —you KNOW you just got the Nobel Prize FOR NOTHING, so you still think folks need to be reinforced.
