So far, Colorado has released 10 prisoners early as part of a plan to save $19 million, including a man previously convicted of a child sex-assault case.
Gov. Bill Ritter has said that no sex offenders, kidnappers or sex offenders would be released early.
Fifty-one-year-old Benny Joe Rael was convicted of a child sex-assault case back in 1982 although that's not the crime he had been serving time for.

Gov. Bill Ritter has said that no sex offenders, kidnappers or sex offenders would be released early. Oh. And he's not going to release sex offenders early.

Of the 10 offenders released, seven have been convicted of violent crimes, including three convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence or assault and four convicted of felony violent crimes from robbery to vehicular assault, The Denver Post reported.
They included a man accused three times of sex offenses and a drunken driver convicted of vehicular homicide

We all wonder just how long it will be before they start costing us money and lives again. I guess those don’t count. People like this creep aren’t reformed.

To make room for offenders being paroled early, about 2,600 former inmates currently on parole will no longer be supervised

This CANNOT be legal. Wouldn’t it make more sense to cut after-school programs than let prisoners out?

Isn’t there a slightly used helium balloon they Colorado could use to “release” their prisoners?

Not the man caught smoking pot, but the child sex offender. Come-on, the jails are full of people who broke laws that didn’t hurt people, But they let out the worst!
I’m sure they did this for max effect. Kinda like in my home state california. They fire the teachers and point the finger at the taxpayers.

So Ritter blows it in the very first batch? How stupid is that!

Can't wait to see the court payouts after these perps go back into their life of crime and attack innocent citizens.

Of course, Bill Ritter didn’t cut any welfare spending at all. What better way to get support for tax hikes than by releasing criminals onto the public.

Gov. Bill Ritter has said that no sex offenders, kidnappers or sex offenders would be released early.I'm pretty sure the guy mentioned in the article is guilty of at least two of those.
