Old article I ran across while looking for for more earthbound parts.
Couldn't find it in the search so don't blame me if it has already been posted.
It's just a "who'd a thunk it?".

It looks like a drilling. I’d take it off their hands...in the name of peace, of course.

maybe its to dress the three headed(three rounds)aliens afterward...eesh.
Russian spacecraft have guns. Chinese spacecraft have guns. US spacecraft do not. I detect a “space gun” gap.

I remember coming across these while reading about big game rifles. A three barrel rifle is neat, a four barrel is over the top, and a five barrel is just insane.
Ivan has a gun in the spacecraft cause on ocassion the guidance system malfunctions & the reentry orbit is high-G reentry as opposed to low-G & the landing areas are often several hundred miles apart. this has happened & due to weather therecovery team had to delay getting to the capsule. The crew is able to open the hatch for ventilation but there are all kinds of critters in the wild hinterlands of Russia including tigers, bears & wolves. Would you want to spend the night in the Siberian wilderness without a firearm?
Didnt the first Apollo capsule come with a handgun in case the soviets got to them in case of an ocean landing?
I don’t now if you missed it but it says two guys got stuck that way and had to fend off wolves. There is a “read more” link at the bottom. I think one is the guy in the photo.
