If “human civilization” has grown this dependent on electricity, it’s hardly worthy of the name.
(Having said that, I wouldn’t want to be stuck in any urban area when the power goes out.)

That might be unduly harsh. dependency on electricity isnt so bad. the bad thing is being dependent on a distribution system with a huge vulnerability like this
