BOSTON If Rush Limbaugh becomes a candidate to own the St. Louis Rams, he could face serious opposition from other NFL team owners.
It takes 24 of the 32 owners to approve any team sale, and even before Limbaugh has become part of an official bid to purchase the Rams, he's been shunned by one team executive.
Colts owner Jim Irsay vowed Tuesday to vote against him and commissioner Roger Goodell said the conservative commentator's "divisive" comments would not be tolerated from any NFL insider.
"I, myself, couldn't even consider voting for him," Irsay said at the fall owners meetings. "When there are comments that have been made that are inappropriate, incendiary and insensitive ... our words do damage, and it's something that we don't need."
Irsay is the first owner who has stated unequivocally he would reject Limbaugh because he made a habit of "demonizing individuals."

Rush IMHO would be a positive for pro football. He really loves the game and he is sane.
If they are deliberately lying about him to cause financial damage he has a case.
He needs 24 of the 32 owners to vote for him.
The only reason Irsay owns anything is that his dad left him the team. He is a staunch supporter of the Democrats.
Irsay is so divisive.
That was his dad, Bob Irsay.
I chuckle when people from Baltimore complain about the theft of the Colts, because they “stole” the Browns from Cleveland.
If it is my property, I can pick it up and move it any time I please......for a while we are still a free nation.

From his lips....WE need to start an email protest to the NFL demanding they FIRE THIS WOMEN HATER!!!!! NOW!!
No. He owned the outfit.
The he left the city left a very bad taste in the mouths of the fans.
Yeah, he can take his property anywhere, and he did. It was the way in which he did it - that did not denote him as a stand up guy.
He was a tin man......made his money in aluminum siding, you expected him to be a stand up guy?
I had no idea what he did for a living.
Colts owner Jim Irsay
Since a few seasons ago, I stopped watching..now I have even less reason, Thanks, Jim!
This+ loss of Dungy + The Capital Improvement Board (tax)-Redistribution from taxpayers to millioniare owners= No NFL for me. I used to be a big Colts fan.
'Nuff said.
The players’ union, the vocal liberal owners and the spineless commissioner and the media will manage to make sure he won’t get the necessary votes. A shame, but that’s my prediction.
The Irsays don’t have a lot of credibility.
