These women may rescue flagging Republican Party (Gnarly chunk vomit)

WASHINGTON — As the Republican Party continues its pilgrimage through the desert, its leaders may be missing the oasis for the vale of tears.

The answer to the party's woes isn't a revamped Web site (GOP.com) offering — wowser! — really cool social networking platforms.

The answer won't be found in the sudden realization that 83 percent of young people 18 to 24 have an online profile — or other late-breaking revelations that merely reinforce the perception of the GOP as woefully behind the curve.

The answer is … drum roll, please … women.

If the GOP is really serious about expanding the party, it's time for the men to hush and let the pros take over. As the saying goes: If you need something done, hire a busy woman. Or, as the White House Project puts it:

“Add women, change everything.”

In the past few months, several conservative women have emerged as candidates and critics to challenge the notion that the GOP is the party of men. They're also putting to rest any thought that Sarah Palin is the female face of the party.

The McCain campaign had the right idea; it just picked the wrong woman.

thank God I'm not a republican.

Seconded. Carried.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Pointless as well ...

Maybe they should try real hard to come up with some first principles, ya know, like what they stand for.

The GOP continues to make the same mistake over and over again. If they don’t want Sarah to be the leader of the party, that’s fine. Heck I’m not even convinced she even wants to run in 2012, but I want the GOP to return to it’s Conservative principles. As long as they don’t do that I want nothing to do with them. How the hell can they support Charlie Crist, he is one of Obama’s biggest supporters. What the hell is wrong with the GOP that they are so damn terrified of speaking out against Obama that they go along with his crap

You’re absolutely correct. I don’t give them any money because they don’t represent me. I don’t compromise and it seems like Compromise is the only trick the RINOs know. That’s what got us in this mess. We’d be better off if they did nothing for 3 more years.

I am more a conservative than a Republican and wish there was a strong conservative party

Forgive the mess - we're in the middle of a site upgrade - but here's a link to what is already the nation's third-largest party based on voter registrations. Read the Reagan conservative platform and the personal affiliation agreement and reach your own conclusions.

By the way, AIP was founded last year by FReepers, including myself.

“Kathleen is the center-left (read RINO) Maureen Dowd. Her, Maureen, Andrew Sullivan, Peggy Noonan and the rest of the girls are just jealous.”

Her name is now “Ma Parker” after the Batman character based on Ma Barker.

"The McCain campaign had rarely had the right idea; it just picked the wrong woman who got a lot of conservatives to bother turning out at all."

There, fixed that part.

"And Carly Fiorina, former Hewlett-Packard CEO, plans to challenge California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer."

Okay, this I could support. I've seen Fiorina in interviews, and she was impressive. She definitely isn't Sarah - I'm not even sure if she's Snowe or Collins on social issues - but she's GOT to be better than Babs Boxer.

"It isn't quite fair remotely intelligent to group McCain with Cheney, given their respective resumes — one a 24-year-old celebrity blogger bufflehead whose fame is (thus far) inherited and the other, Cheney, 43, a former deputy assistant secretary of state. But both are relatively fresh voices with instant name recognition. And each appeals to a different, perhaps untapped, demographic."

Personally, I'm not so sure I'd *want* the support of Megan McCain's "demographic".

Amen brother. If those women (with the possible exception of Liz Cheney) represent the GOP, I want nothing to do with it.

Dear Moroness Parker,

I doubt that you have allowed yourselves to notice that conservatives are not on pilgrimage through the desert with these so-called Republicans you leave unnamed. No, we have been pounding on the walls of the castle and occasionally launching dead, diseased carcasses inside the city walls.

Van Jones resigned, why? ACORN is on the ropes, why? Fox News is #1 by a huge margin, why? More than a half-million patriots marched on Washington, did you not see any of that? Is your head under the sand? Possibly your burkha is too tight?

We are not out wandering the desert, contrarily, conservatives are out protesting and marching by the hundreds of thousands. The biggest selling books this year will be from Mark Levin and Sarah Palin.

Does any of this sound like the conservatives have joined the so-called Republicans out in the desert?

It is just the opposite, oh shrouded lady, we will be coming to your place, the left media soon. They will see and hear from us. Ignore us if you can, but at your own peril.

We are not wandering in the ditzy desert, we are laying seige. Just ignore that big wooden horse we are building outside the gates, thats just our Christmas present. Or is that Valentines Day?

I love it more, the more the left screams that Sarah Palin would be a disaster. You can see they will try hard to get her to be the GOP nominee.
