7. Non-Physician Competition
8. Approval/Patent Reform for Drugs and Treatments
9. Provisions to Force Medicare and Medicaid to Compete

Kill the health care bill. The only thing about the health care bill should be DOA.
If this thing passes; not only will there be a lot of new faces in Washington DC; there may be some new faces in jail with no pensions.
I would keep #1 from the top list and ditch #9 in the bottom, because the government should get out of the health care business entirely. Maybe they could apply funds to help insurance companies cover #1.
Based on over 80 years of government farm policies (using poorly thought out controls and subsidies), it appears likely that the health care industry will end up devising techniques for milking the government rather than providing health care.
I continue to be astounded; a hue a cry has not arisen regarding felony imprisonment for failure to buy health insurance. If its socially acceptable today (not to purchase health insurance), why should it be a felony after the Baucus bill passes? This is government at its most tyrannical.
There should be an iron clad, rock-solid avenue for rapid second opinions and real-time hearing of grievances.
If Grandma has her good kidney removed, who you gonna call?
1. Your congressperson? No, this is their idea.
2. A lawyer? Nah, they are the new guardians of the system.
3. A committee or panel? (Polite laughter).
4. The "news" media? Uhhhhh, nupe.
You will have a number to call to leave a voicemail, and that, I suspect, will be that.
