This is a giant capital confiscation from those who have paid health insurance premiums. Those premiums are used to create interest bearing funds from which the pollicy holders’ cliams are eventually paid. Under the Baucus bill a horde of people with pre-existing conditions who have paid no money into the insurance companies’ reserves will bo allowed to file claims on payment of minimal premiums, thereby exhausting the funds and making them unavailable to pay legitimate claims by legitimate policy holders.
I hope they can do this with auto insurance, too. I’ll cancel my policy and only buy it when I get into an accident. Same goes for my homeowners.
