It’s a bad idea. We need to spread the ownership around not consolidate it.

The truth is that we need a conservative consortium to start buying up the alphabet news organizations and firing people in mass.

The names mentioned are Murdoch and John Malone of Liberty Media. Malone is very very smart and rich. He is one of the sharpest operators around. Anyone know if he is political at all? I get the impression he is apolitical but at least not a lib.

News Corp, which owns the Fox cable network and local TV stations, had been seen as a less likely bidder, analysts have said, because taking a stake in NBC might raise antitrust concerns with the U.S. government. It'll raise more than anti-trust concerns. They can't handle the parry and thrust they get now from Fox.
Someone please get Olbermann's picture when he hears this news.

IF the deal goes through with Rupert - and that is a VERY big ‘if’ - it would have nothing to do with airing conservative entertainment on NBC.
Rupert already owns FOX. It’s not conservative, it’s broadcast entertainment.
If he bought NBC, the biggest plus for him would be a second set of prime time hours to produce TV shows for.
If he were to buy CNBC, it would most likely be to merge its resources and talent pool with Fox Business.
And yes, I would LOVE to be in the room when K.O. gets KO’d.
