There was a spike in the national press interest on the subject this past week after U.S. Rep. Mike Pence wowed the annual conference of the Americans for Prosperity and scheduled a fundraising trip to South Carolina.
It followed his appearance at the National Tea Party on the federal mall in August as well as speaking trips to Iowa and California. Roll Call noted that Pences campaign staff passed out small cards on the mall featuring his photo above the words Mike Pence, Standing Strong. The back of the card invited voters to Join the Pence Team.

Which exemplifies exactly WHY Indiana needs true conservatives to take it back. A lot of states need exactly that, because if conservatives do not, we will continue to lose states one at a time. The longer we wait, the harder it will be. Ask ANYONE from the NE!

Indiana has trended left as illegals and ACORNs exert more voting influence, like much of the USA. It's hard to get a handle on such things, but several studies say that turned off, conservative Republicans who sat it out in 2008 were the biggest factor, costing Republicans 2% or more of their normal share of the total vote . And the minority turnout won't always be as high when Obama isn't on the ballot.

I agree.
Without the Messiah hisself on the 010 ballot, Dems are more vulnerable.
Fight and pray for gridlock.

Thanks. I just love this place! I’ve been laughing at so many of the good comments about Obama and liberals. I can’t quit reading, like some kind of addict or something. Way better than other political forums I’ve seen. BY FAR!!

If the name weren’t so “soiled” I’d throw Lynne Cheney (Dick’s wife, not Liz the daughter) into the mix. She’s brilliant.

NO MORE LEGISLATORS FOR CHIEF EXECUTIVE!!!
Forget these “tawker” idealogues!
Get someone who knows how to run things, and HAS actually run things. That’s what an executive does.
Like maybe a governor. Sarah Palin for example.

He would be an excellent match up as Sarah's VP.

One hell of a lot better than Mitch Daniels, whose name someone keeps floating here on FR as a viable candidate.
I still think it will be Palin & ______ . Pence would be a great VP and capable of extending control of the WH to 2028.

No, he advocated the same guest-worker plan that Tancredo advocated for."
Really? I'd be interested in seeing any evidence of that. I don't recall Tancredo being in favor of the "Pence Plan", but I do recall RHINO Kay Bailey Hutchinson supporting it.
Nevermind...I checked myself:
......"However, Rep. Tom Tancredo (R.-Colo.) had nothing nice to say. As chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus, Tancredo carries much respect with conservative activists. Heres his full statement:
Mike Pence is making the same mistakes that the President has, using the straw man of mass deportations and redefining amnesty to suit his interests. Unfortunately, like the President, Pence is breaking from House conservatives who remain steadfast in their support of a security-first approach to immigration, said Tancredo.
Pences plan would require illegal aliens to return to their home countries to apply for a new W worker visa. Employers could hire as many foreign workers as they want under the W visa, and, in practice, they would likely hire the same workers who they employed illegally before. Pence wants to start the new foreign worker program before border security is even proved effective, which is the same strategy that was used in the 1986 amnesty. Twenty years later, the U.S. got amnesty as promised but no border security.
Pences W visa is aptly named. It gives the Administration exactly what it wants: unlimited foreign workers first, enforcement later or never, said Tancredo. Pences plan is just the 1986 amnesty with a trip home tacked on.
The Pence plan includes no prevailing wage standard for foreign workersit simply relies on the good will of employers to try to hire American workers before offering jobs under the new foreign worker visa. In fact, almost all current visas require employers to offer the job to American workers before seeking foreign labor, but with no enforcement mechanism, the requirement is laughable.
The Houses strategy in H.R. 4437 was to fix the illegal alien problem by enforcing the law. Over time, as illegal workers cannot obtain jobs, they go home because they have no other option open to them. Pence takes a much different approach: fix illegal behavior by legalizing it, said Tancredo. As a conservative and a friend of Mike Pence, I am baffled by his shift on immigration. I hope he reconsiders his position and returns to an enforcement-first position.

If her husband was any healthier, I’d go for Dick Cheney in 2012.
He shuld’ve ran this past time around. He would’ve clobbered the Obamunist in debates.
To: Kimberly GG
What good does arguing about it do now?
Far leftists hold control of the government and they're going to pass amnesty point-blank.
Pence's plan at the time was a logical compromise that would have still secured the borders first and took the issue off the table from the Rats.
BTW, Tancredo did support a guest-worker program which was virtually identical to Pence's.

Yeah, there ARE exceptions.
Republican governors do better.
And Palin would be better than Pence, which was the original point.

I first saw Mike Pence when he gave the Weekly Republican Address for November 26, 2009. He was in good voice, shows concern and compassion, sincere and honest, and has a calm manner. I have been watching other videos of Mike Pence on news shows. I want this man to be our next President of the United States. I hope he has a campaign in 2011 / 2012.
