This is a portion of a CNN broadcast from 2008:

It seems very poignant given the humorous awarding of the once prestigious Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama.
Irena CLEARLY should have won over Al Gore in 2007 ...
Obviously, the Nobel Committee thought that an Al Gore movie of a PowerPoint presentation was MORE heroic than a 4’11” woman who rescued 2500 Polish Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII - at GREAT risk to her life. She was captured, tortured, but gave up no information - then finally escaped ...
Same thing this year - there were those who put their lives on the line in the advancement of peace who did not win ...
The members of the Nobel Committee are a bunch of wusses ...
The takeaway is clear. The “Nobel” means about as much as an “Academy Award” or whatever the local PTA might decide on some issue.
People say that Obama’s winning of the Nobel prize cheapens it. The reality is that Obama’s win is more of a joke than anything. Al Gore’s win over Sendler was nearly criminal.
Wow. I didn’t know. She does deserve it, but then again, the Norwegians are making it clear that it isn’t what everyone might have been led to believe it was.
I too only head Irena Sendler's story last your. Glenn Beck did a wonderful job telling it in only 2 minutes 45 seconds. So effectively it brought tears to my eyes.
Irena has her reward, in brilliance and in splendor, from the One who loves the innocent, the courageous and the just.
And I must say, incidentally, that this increases my respect for Glenn Beck.
Please excuse my typos. Arthritic hands. Too much hurry. (And didn’t use spell-check.)
