Why would Barry Obama, a 15-year-old student in Hawaii, need to steal a Social Security number???? That makes no sense.

You need to prove you are a citizen to get a SS Number, you need a valid birth cert.

My husbands great grandfather from Greece was not a citizen and he had a social security number because he paid taxes. He just filed each year with the immigration office.

I get that, but why at 15 would he need to steal a number? Was this when he was working at Baskin Robbins? Did his Gramps get him a fake one because he didn't have a real one?

He is a few years younger than I am. When I was 15 and a half I got a drivers permit. At that time they told me in order to test and receive my drivers license at 16, I had to send for my SS#. I had to send a copy of my BC and an application to receive my SS#. Way back then and until about 10 or 12 years ago...my drivers license number was my SS#.
