Raw Video: Camp Keating Interviews -- from the soldiers who were there, and the pilots who flew in. Interview by ISAF Media.
NATOs main role in Afghanistan is to assist the Afghan Government in exercising and extending its authority and influence across the country, paving the way for reconstruction and effective governance. It does this predominately through its UN-mandated International Security Assistance Force.
Since NATO took command of ISAF in 2003, the Alliance has gradually expanded the reach of its mission, originally limited to Kabul, to cover Afghanistans whole territory. The number of ISAF troops has grown accordingly from the initial 5,000 to around 50.000 troops coming from 42 countries, including all 28 NATO members.
ISAF is a key component of the international community's engagement in Afghanistan, assisting the Afghan authorities in providing security and stability and creating the conditions for reconstruction and development.
Camp Keating - after the attack 1
You'll hear the awe from the pilots .. they can't believe how cool these guys were under such a massive, withering attack.
NOTE: the audio is uneven. Hard to hear the questions, so raise the volume for the questions, lower to hear the response from the military.

The terrain is so formidable, but these amazing young men and women in our military .. whatever it takes to get the job done! God bless and protect them .. Lord, awaken their CIC to get behind them!
~~PING!
BTTT
How in the heck are they supposed to defend that place???????
They are surrounded on all sides by hills?
In August CNN had a piece on Camp Keating.
Part One is here- http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2009/08/18/walsh.afghan.embed.itn?iref=videosearch
If I’m Commander in Chief, after I see this ( or it’s brought to my attention by my crack staff ) I immediately get on the horn to General McChrystal and order that it be reinforced or vacated immediately.
Today.
Anyone seeing that piece knew it was just a matter of time.
Barry did nothing.
The Taliban must have enjoyed the CNN * piece because it gave them perfect intel.
And when someone from the outpost informed the local village elders that the camp would be closed in two weeks-
what did the wonderful locals do-the ones are guys are giving their lives to protect ?
They ran to the Taliban and ratted out our guys.
Attack soon , before they leave.
We have a CINC who has been and continues to be - Derelict in his duty .
That conclusion is inescapable and glaringly obvious .
I believe that a President Biden , even will all his gaffes and liberalism, would be a far better CINC than the lazy ,
basketball playing, Taliban courting, America hating bum
currently ignoring Afghanistan
and giving US soldiers the finger.
* CNN has been airing pro US military pieces from their embeds for months .
And the embeds have not been shy in calling out Barry and warning him that Afghanistan is spiraling out of control, especially Michael Ware.
That said, seems like a vulnerable place to set up an outpost.

True, and begs the question of logistics for an additional 40,000 Troopers for the long haul? Any comments FReeper logistics officers familiar with A-stan.?
Setting up at military camp at the base of a four-cornered hillside has to be the most stupid (and bordering on incompetence) act in this campaign.
What I want to know is if there’s anyone in the camp that questioned the strategic placement of that encampment??
It looks like pics I’ve seen of Khe Sahn or even worse, Dien Bien Phu. Indefensable.
Thanks for this thread, STARWISE. God bless and protect our military as they operate under difficult circumstances with calm professionalism.

Yep, America would be better off if Biden takes over, hard to believe, but Ocarter has been that bad
Yes .. seems an incomprehensible choice.
Imagine .. they were surrounded .. on ALL
sides.
