The Supreme Court joined in a fight between the ACLU and the federal government over a World War I memorial in the shape of a cross. While neither legal team hit the ball over the fence, the majority seems inclined to save this cross in what will be the first religious liberty case of the new Court.
On Oct. 7, the Supreme Court heard arguments in Salazar v. Buono. This case is a decade-long fight over the so-called Mojave cross, pitting Obama Solicitor General Elena Kagan against the ACLUs Peter Eliasberg. (This doesnt mean Barack Obama necessarily wants to protect this cross. His Justice Department has the duty of protecting every federal law, regardless of what he and his staff think of those laws.)

"The ACLU is America's Taliban"
Truer words were never spoken.
Good point.

Now if that cross could be stuffed in a giant bottle of urine, it would be protected as free speech and be supported with funding from the NEA.
lol
The fact that this even gets to court is scary.
What’s next - every cross on top of every steeple in the country will have to go?
It was erected in 1934 and was put there by soldiers to pay tribute to other soldiers who didn’t make it. If they thought in any way that it would be “offensive” to those who gave their lives for freedom, I’m sure they would have done something else.
It was good enought then, and it’s damned sure good enough now.
ACORN has been exposed.
Now, the ACLU has to be exposed.
They are an arm of a political agenda whose only purpose is to tear down America and its culture and its values.
The County Sheriff should move to protect the cross if the Supreme Court rules against it.
The Supreme Court rule but they cannot enforce.
The line in the sand has to be drawn somewhere.
And the Mojave has plenty of sand.
Evil was defeated on the cross Yeshua died upon. Nothing can ever change that. He is victorious.
We are in the Age of Grace. The door is wide open for anyone to come to Christ and avoid eternal (and literal) Hell.
I expect to see much more overt persecution and hatred towards Christ's adopted children in the very future. "Hate Crimes" laws against preaching God's word just passed Congress. We will soon begin to see Christian pastors and those believers with conviction who speak the truth of God's word being arrested.
House Votes to Expand Definition of Hate Crimes
We should all pray we can pass God's testing, because it is sure to become trying. But those who stand firm until the end will be saved.
Absolutely.
And I suppose they are going to remove all the crosses and stars of david and hammer and sicles from the graves of the dead soldiers all over Europe?? The World??
